Architectural Designs That Make a Difference

THERE’S AN INCREASING CONSENSUS THAT GROWING AND CONSUMING FOODS LOCALLY IS BETTER FOR HEALTH, THE ENVIRONMENT AND COMMUNITIES. BUT WHY STOP THERE? NOW, YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY APPLYING CONCEPTS OF LOCAL SOURCING, TECHNICAL INGENUITY AND COMMUNITY INCLUSIVENESS TO YOUR BUILD PROJECTS TOO, WITHOUT COMPROMISING THE ARCHITECTURAL VISION.

Technology Reimagined

Andrew S. Aguanno's architectural method recombines existing construction processes and techniques to yield distinctive design solutions. This allows for the option of extracting raw materials from the land on, or near, the build site when feasible. Doing so not only honours the integrity of the landscape, but substantially reduces costs and carbon emissions associated with transporting materials.

Practical Elegance

Inspired by original and classical uses of stone, Andrew explores the design possibilities that applications of new fabrication technologies can offer to help generate novel and contemporary projects. His design concepts merge form with landscape in both elegance and simplicity, drawing focus to the valued intrinsic qualities of the natural surroundings. Elements of wood, stone, glass and metal, are the desired building blocks for spaces that seek to resonate with – and be responsive to – the specific needs of their users. Architectural intuitiveness, combined with a focus on what the land can offer, serve as clues to inform Andrew’s design solutions.

Supply Chain Synergy

Andrew’s modified notion of supply chain management rethinks the way an architect executes design and delivers work. His data-centric process and inclusive approach seeks to incorporate the input of all parties involved from concept to completion. Fostering synergistic relationships through thoughtful engagement is key to ensuring that expectations are understood and met, while adhering to necessary guidelines and regulations.

Economic Sustainability

Where possible, Andrew will work with local contractors, engineers and specialty consultants to support the economic sustainability of their community. This can also help merge buildings with pre-existing structures in a mindful way.
